A student in Type II Program has to achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or better.

Qualifying Examination
All students must pass a qualifying examination at least 3 subject in four areas of specialty which may be chosen amonge the following areas : Algebra, Topology, Differential Equations, Real and Complex Analysis, Mathematical Physics, Mathematical Statistics, Numerical Analysis, Geometry and Functional Analysis.
Preliminary Examination
A student who has passed the qualifying examination, the TOEFL requirement, and the course requirement, becomes a Ph.D. candidate.
Specialty Examination
A student needs to pass an oral examination on the defense of his/her dissertation once it has been completed.
Research and Dissertation
A student needs to complete a significant piece of original research and write a dissertation on the research in the form approved by the graduate school.
Publication
At least one paper published in an international journal or other venues accepted by the international community.
